Nadeemi vs WhatsApp, Telegram and X: An Honest Comparison

Written by the Nadeemi team, so read it with that in mind. Every fact about another app links to its source, and we list where Nadeemi is weaker.

Comparison pages written by the company being compared usually have one winner and three villains. We'll try to do better. WhatsApp, Telegram and X are each very good at something, used by hundreds of millions of people, and built by large teams. Nadeemi is a small, independent social network in public beta. The useful question isn't "which is best?" but "which one fits what you want to protect?"

Short version: pick WhatsApp for default end-to-end encrypted chats with people who already have it, and accept ads in the Updates tab and a phone number. Pick Telegram for huge channels and fast cloud sync, and accept that groups are not end-to-end encrypted. Pick X for public reach, and accept ads and AI training on public posts unless you opt out. Pick Nadeemi if you want a feed, groups and private Circles in Arabic and English with no ads, no phone number and no AI, and you can live with a young beta whose encryption is still labelled "coming" until audited.

How does Nadeemi compare with WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is a mature messenger with default, audited end-to-end encryption for chats, groups and calls, but it needs a phone number and now shows ads in the Updates tab. Nadeemi is a social network with a feed, groups and private Circles, no ads and no phone number, but its encryption has not yet been independently audited.

Facts: Meta says WhatsApp personal messages, calls and statuses "remain end-to-end encrypted" and are not used for ads; ads use limited data such as country, city, language and channels you follow (Meta, 16 Jun 2025). Status ads and promoted channels went worldwide on 27 Feb 2026 (Storyboard18). More in Is WhatsApp encrypted?

Where WhatsApp is stronger: everyone already has it; its encryption is mature and audited; calls are excellent. Where Nadeemi is different: no phone number, no ads anywhere, a real public feed and profiles, and Circles for family-sized private sharing.

How does Nadeemi compare with Telegram?

Telegram is fast, syncs everywhere and handles enormous channels, but its normal chats and all group chats are cloud chats with server-client encryption, not end-to-end. Only opt-in one-to-one Secret Chats and calls are end-to-end encrypted. Nadeemi encrypts all private chats and Circles on the device with MLS, labelled "coming" until audited.

Telegram's own FAQ: "Server-client encryption is used in Cloud Chats (private and group chats)", and "Telegram accounts can only be connected to a mobile number" (telegram.org/faq). More in Is Telegram encrypted?

Where Telegram is stronger: huge channels and groups, bots, instant multi-device sync, a long track record. Where Nadeemi is different: private groups are encrypted on the device by design, no phone number, no sponsored messages.

How does Nadeemi compare with X?

X is built for public reach: a global audience, trends and news. It carries ads, and public posts can be used to train xAI's Grok models unless you opt out. Its XChat messages are encrypted, but researchers criticised the design: private keys are backed up on X's servers behind a 4-digit PIN. Nadeemi has no ads, no AI and no key backup on our servers.

Facts: X's help centre says you can control whether your public data and Grok interactions are used to train and fine-tune its models (X Help). On XChat, CyberInsider reported in April 2026 that key fragments are hosted under x.com and protected mainly by a four-digit PIN, and that researchers flagged missing forward secrecy and key verification (CyberInsider, 25 Apr 2026). More in Is X Chat encrypted?

Where X is stronger: reach. If you need strangers worldwide to see your post today, X wins. Where Nadeemi is different: a calmer, ad-free feed meant for family, friends and community, in Arabic and English.

Where is Nadeemi weaker?

Nadeemi is new, small and in beta. Few people you know are on it yet; there is no independent audit of its encryption, so we don't call it end-to-end encrypted; the web version is weaker than signed apps for high-risk users; and public posts are readable by our servers, like on every social network.

The honest list:

Who should choose which?

Choose by what you are protecting. For private chats with people already on WhatsApp, WhatsApp is a sound default. For giant public channels, Telegram. For public reach, X. For a family and community space with a feed, private Circles, Arabic and English, no ads and no phone number, try Nadeemi, and judge it yourself.
